Big Missouri Map

This week our school was able to experience an oversized map of Missouri! We used the opportunity to sharpen our map skills and review many geographical connections to our state. Fifth graders work through a geographical lens throughout the year when learning about historical events that occur from 1800-2000 in social studies.

Veterans Day 2022

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Americans pause to honor those that have served in the military. Do you know why Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11th? Do you know the difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day? Students listened to some of my favorite picture books and read an article from Scholastic News to expand their understanding of the annual holiday.
