Making Pizza!

 What a great first week! Students made pizza and shared smiles and tips for a great pizza pie! Thank you to our amazing families for sending in the toppings for a great cooking experience!

Students spent the first few days of the school year building community and laughing! One of the fifth graders' favorite Back to School activities is to write memes. Here are some of our favorites!

2022-2023 School Year Starts Now!

 

First Week: Done!

 

We did it! We completed week one of virtual learning. We may have had some bumps in the road and some learning curves with the technology, but this class rocked it!!! 

In a short amount of time, students have worked to navigate between apps on an iPad. They have learned to use a learning management system, Schoology, AND students submitted assignments!

Students showed up for every Zoom and they gave it their all. Our future looks bright and this WILL be a wonderful year!

Teamwork Activity

Students worked in teams and were challenged with building the longest chain.

Each group was provided with a piece of paper, two pairs of scissors and a glue stick.

In essence, there were more people than there were supplies.

Students had to problem solve and communicate with each other. They had to plan what they were going to do.

Students naturally defined roles. Someone was the "cutter" or the "gluer".

Working quickly, students made the longest chain of paper that they could.

Rolling Sixes

Students worked with a partner to play a math game. One person rolled a die. When they landed on a six, they stopped rolling and switched with their partner. The partner was writing the numbers-- hoping to reach 100 before the partner rolled a six. So fun!
