Developing a Model of Earth's Systems

         Students created a model of Earth's Systems by choosing if they wanted to make a 3-D or a 2-D model.  They were able to choose their materials and think about which systems they wanted to include. Each model needed to include at least two of the systems that we explored this month.  Most students found that it was more natural to include all four! Can you identify the geosphere, biosphere, atmosphere, and hydrosphere in these photos?

Students have begun our unit on Earth Systems in Science. We have created terrariums that are a closed system that include four of the earth's systems.  

Students then found images to represent each system using the app Pic Collage.

Here are some finished examples!  Students needed to use the quadrant template, include one image to represent the system, and label it with the correct vocabulary.

Students were able to choose how to represent their learning.  They could do a poster, 3-D model or an animation.
