Vocabulary Day 2018

Space Systems in Science

During science, students have been investigating the movements of the earth and the moon. What patterns are established?

We documented the length of shadows throughout the day to see how the sun's apparent location in the sky correlates to the length of the shadow.

Learning about the 13 Colonies

Students have worked on the geographic, economic, and historical ideas from the 1600's-1770's. Students have researched a colonial region and presented their information to the class.

First Time with our Buddy Class!

We were so excited to meet our buddy class! Students in our class are paired with a Kindergarten student in Mrs. Mariott's room. We loved meeting our special student.

Students worked on a project for
International Dot Day!

Each student made a dot and we posted them together in a similar fashion of the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds. "Make your Mark on the World".

Creating a Closed System

Students worked together to make a closed system. Using rocks, soil, plants, water, and air, we created a model of Earth's systems!

Questions that ensued:

  • Are we taking the cap off to water the plants later?
  • Won't the plants die if we leave the cap on?
  • Will it start to "rain" inside the container?
